April 1999:
CottonDB was upgraded to ACEDB version 4.3. This new version is called CottonDB 99.4. In this current version of CottonDB (99.4), we have integrated more data and new classes and tags. To make distinctions between the same kind of data received from different labs and experiments, we have instituted changes in the current and in future versions of CottonDB. We have added a prefix of three letters designating the lab. In this update we have incorporated the data from Dr. Benjamin Burr and his AmTex cotton project using SSRs on the ARS-Texas mapping population. Changes include :

• Clone

• Germplasm
• Map
• Colleague
• Polymorphism.
